How verification works, step by step
The whole process takes a few minutes on a phone with a camera.
The steps
- Create your account with email and password and enter the 6 digit code from your email.
- Confirm your date of birth. You must be 18 or older.
- Take a selfie liveness check. A short live capture on your phone confirms a real person is present, not a photo of a photo.
- Scan a government photo ID, such as a passport, driving license or national ID card.
- Wait for the result. A third-party identity verification provider compares the selfie with the ID photo and checks the document.
- Get your badge. Once approved, your profile can go public with the verified badge.
What happens if a check fails
If the face does not match, the document is unclear or the age cannot be confirmed, the check is rejected. Unclear cases are rejected by default, because we prefer a second attempt to a mistake. Anyone shown to be under 18 is rejected and blocked.
